The Mission of the Virginia Center for Policing Innovation (VCPI) is to
advance public safety through training and services for law enforcement and
the communities they serve.
Visit this site to find out about one major program, Victim Information and
Notification Everyday (VINE). This is a system which automatically notifies
victims and others about any change in custody status for a particular
incarcerated offender. A victim can register in VINE to receive immediate,
automated notification against their offender and will be phoned or e-mailed
if that person is released from custody, escapes, is moved to another
facility, or has any other change in custody status. Victims and other
concerned citizens can register at vinelink or by calling
1-800-467-4943.
